Case study
Private AI API
An AI service that apps call through code, the same way they call the big AI companies, except nothing a customer sends is kept.
A drop-in AI service for developers, on our own servers
- 0
- prompts or replies stored on our side
- 1 day
- from first commit to live, paid accounts
- Drop-in
- works with code already written for the popular AI APIs
The problem
Developers want AI in their apps but cannot send customer data to a service that keeps it, and per-token prices from the big providers add up fast.
What we built
- An API that existing AI code can point at by changing one address. Replies stream word by word, with the model's reasoning kept separate.
- Self-serve keys shown instantly at signup, billing by the token and monthly plans, all through card payments.
- Abuse protection from day one: per-address rate limits and no free credit to farm.
Privacy
Requests pass through and are answered. Our side keeps no copy of what was sent or written back; billing keeps token counts only.
What it taught us
Once you own the model servers, a new AI product is a weekend of code, not a new cost line.
